This year’s Scorpio Crew Conference was held for the first time outside of Manila. It was conducted at Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark in Cebu, Philippines from 20th to 22nd November 2024. The Ratings Seminar took place on November 20th, while the Officers Seminar was carried out last November 21st & 22nd. The Crew Conference gathered around 40 Ratings and 40 Officers mostly from the nearby provinces of Cebu and Visayas Regions.
The Crew Conference emphasizes on how to maintain a regular communication platform with the seafarers and to reinforce positive safe working culture and company’s values. The seminar also embodies sharing of relevant information, ideas and strategies in developing seafarer’s capabilities and improving knowledge and skills on Safety Navigation, Safe Engineering Operations and Personal Safety.
The seminar topics on the first day covers the Scorpio’s Safer Together Program, Crewing Initiatives focusing on Maori – the Crew Savings Plan, SIRE 2.0, Gender Sensitization, Developing Self-kindness amongst us and HSQ Highlights & Cyber Security. On the 2nd day, the topics discussed focused on Commercial Viewpoint, Nutritional Awareness at Sea, Environmental, Commercial, Marine & Technical Matters and IPMS/i-Perform program of Scorpio.
